At the end of the month our Christmas catalogue will be out and we hope to have plenty of stock available for any christmas shopping you might like to do locally. Our range is ever expanding and we also offer gift cards for those who like to choose their own gifts. We will be emailing our catalogue out to those on our mailing list and it will be available on our website. 

Also, for those trades we have plenty of treated pine 240 x 45 which is a relief with all the trouble everyone has had sourcing timber. We also have some T2 and treated pine in stock. Leaving 2020 well and truly behind him, South Coast MC and producer HMO is back with a bang this year with his latest single “Fake” featuring Gee Mary.

Dealing with the falsities and pretence that infiltrate everyday life, from the rise of fake news to false values that compromise morals and humanity, “Fake” takes an introspective look at the way we judge others before realising the imperfections within ourselves.

HMO explains: “In a world where pretence seems to be the norm, we search for this false sense of approval. Our whole moral compass has been shifted and our values seem to be lost. The track deals with this and how we are all guilty of being pretentious in our own right, and how this struggle often puts us in a state of confusion.”

A sexily soulful beat and R&B-inspired melody welcomes the track as HMO’s sharp-witted lyrics question what has happened to society as we know it, asking whether we’ve all become lost in this never-ending circle of lies that have become the norm.

Vocalist Gee Mary’s honeyed vocals drop in with a gorgeous three-part harmony that is sure to get stuck in your head for days as a funk-laden guitar riff brings it all to a heady climax. The perfect summer track to reflect on the year past and look towards what the new year will bring.

Both hailing from the South Coast of NSW, HMO and Gee Mary came together a couple of years ago to lay down the new track, but it wasn’t until now that it felt like the right time to release it.

After a killer year for most of us in the music industry Southern Entertainment is teaming up with IIconic Creative and with the help of sponsor Gerringong H Hardware will be bringing you ‘Screw 2020’. It will be a live streamed event but there will be a limited run of tickets available for purchase. Eight artists will be performing a twenty minute set followed by a short interview with our MC. We are kicking it off with the soothing sounds of local folk artists Erin Hand, Jack Willis and Corey Legge. Then strap yourself in for local Hip Hop artists and MC’S Azza D and HMO. This will be followed by local bands Fercho Chargie, Sketchy Fancy and rounding off with young up and coming Indie rockers Swells. 

The event held, for the live stream on this page, will start on on Friday the 11th of December, at 7:30pm to 11:00pm, so tune in then!

As a community business, we understand that many people rely on our products and services to conduct their daily business and now, more than ever we must continue to work to support our families. These are unprecedented times and I understand that our reduced hours have affected many of our valued customers and caused frustration. However, these measures were only implemented to ensure the safety of both our staff and our customers. As of next Monday, we will resume our normal weekday trading hours but will continue to remain closed on sundays. Our new trading hours will be:

Monday: 7:00am – 5:00pm

Tuesday: 7:00am – 5:00pm

Wednesday: 7:00am – 5:00pm

Thursday: 7:00am – 5:00pm

Friday: 7:00am – 5:00pm

Saturday: 8:00am – 2pm

Sunday: Closed (Temporary)

We are continuing to ensure the safety of customers and staff with increased and regular cleaning of all areas, and the provision of hand sanitisemr at designated locations within the store. We implore all customers that if you are feeling sick, have a cough or a fever, please do not come into our store. It is also imperative to adhere to the strict social distancing measures that have been set out by our local and federal governments. We sincerely hope these measures will help our community fight on through these difficult times and help us to carry on with our lives with some semblance of normalcy.

Also, if you are elderly, have a disability or cannot make it into our store and desperately need any items or assistance, please call us and we will do our very best to accommodate your requests. This is a time when community and compassion are needed more than ever and we would like to thank the community for their continued support over the years. Stay safe, stay home unless it’s absolutely necessary and wash your hands.

I begin this blog post by hoping that everyone is staying safe during this time. Times like this bring out both the best, and worst in people and some of the scenes I have seen play out before me have both saddened and inspired me. The last couple of weeks have seen significant change, the likes of which we may never see again in our lifetime. I am sure everyone is feeling a mixture of fear, anxiety and stress. However, our small little coastal community of Gerringong is strong and our sense of community inimitable. I am sure we will all be able to work through this together if we look after those in need, and exercise love and compassion for our fellow humans.  

In relation to Gerringong H Hardware, at this stage we are still trading, with reduced hours as stated in our previous blog post, and employing each and every measure we can to ensure the safety of both our staff and customers. We implore you to abide by social distancing measures, adhere to safe hygiene practices and when in the store, please use eftpos. We also encourage you to use our delivery service and minimise your trips not just to our store, but any trips in general. We are here for the community and please, if you need anything, particularly if you are an elderly customer or someone in need of extra assistance call us on our store number. We will do our very best to try to accommodate your requests as best we can. Again, these are trying times and we would like to extend our greatest appreciation and gratitude for your continued support of Gerringong H Hardware.

Firstly, Gerringong H Hardware would like to thank our community for their continued support over the decades in which we have been trading. We want to assure the community that we will be remaining open unless otherwise advised by the state or federal government. There are many tradespersons, businesses, suppliers and local community members who rely on our business and services to undertake their professional activities, and run their households.  Due to growing concerns over the current Covid-19 crisis, we will be making some temporary changes to our trading hours.

Our new trading hours will come into effect as of this Wednesday, the 25th of March.

They are:

Monday: 7:00am – 3:30pm
Tuesday: 7:00am – 3:30pm
Wednesday: 7:00am – 3:30pm
Thursday: 7:00am – 3:30pm
Friday: 7:00am – 3:30pm
Saturday: 8:00am – 2pm

We are also taking steps to ensure sanitisation of all work areas and are employing measures to employ social distancing. All our staff have been briefed on the correct procedures for hygiene as per the recommendations from the World Health Organisation and both the state and federal chief medical officers. This is an evolving situation and we will be providing updates through our social media as we receive more information. These are unprecedented times and we hope everyone stays safe over the coming weeks.
